CRC.scot is seeking a practical, motivated and adaptable Plant / General Operative to help deliver environmental and rural civil engineering projects across Scotland. This is a rewarding, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating plant, solving practical challenges and turning their hand to whatever the day demands.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

CRC.scot is looking for a motivated and hardworking Plant / General Operative to join our growing team. We specialise in environmental and rural civil engineering projects, delivering high-quality work across Scotland, including river restoration, natural flood management, habitat enhancement, rural infrastructure, and path construction.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work as part of a close-knit team on projects that make a positive difference to Scotland's natural environment.

Our workshop is based in Aberdeenshire, and much of our work is local. However, we also deliver projects across Scotland, and regular working away from home should be expected. Some projects will require staying away, typically Monday to Friday, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.

The Role

You'll be involved in a wide range of environmental and rural civils projects, including:

  • River restoration and natural flood management works
  • Footpath and access route construction
  • Habitat creation and environmental improvements
  • Rural civil engineering projects
  • General groundworks and site maintenance
  • Assisting with manual tasks and supporting the wider site team

What We're Looking For

We're ideally looking for someone confident operating an excavator, but equally willing to jump into a dumper, help with manual work, or turn their hand to whatever the job requires.Essential:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Competent excavator operator
  • Dumper ticket/experience
  • CPCS or NPORS plant tickets
  • Experience in groundworks, civil engineering, forestry, landscaping, or environmental construction
  • CSCS card
  • Experience working near water or on environmental projects
